Session 2: Crystal engineering applications using the CSD Solid Form Suite

When? Sunday, August 23rd, 2015, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Where? Rovinj, Hotel Lone*****, Meeting room 4 (ground floor)

A few words from the organizers: In this workshop session, we will introduce users of the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) to the range of Solid Form analysis applications that can be brought to bear on a given structure, in particular showcasing the new Full Interaction Mapping functionality in Mercury. Topics to be covered include the following:

      • Structure assessment using Full Interaction Mapping
      • Polymorphism prediction using Hydrogen-Bond Propensity
      • Co-Crystal design using Knowledge-Based Methods
      • Plus other topics

The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC), is a fully independent research institution, and a University Partner of the University of Cambridge. Since its inception, the CCDC is dedicated to supporting structural chemistry research by rigorously compiling the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD), the world’s only comprehensive and fully curated database of over 750,000 experimentally determined organic and metal-organic crystal structures. This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the CSD. This unparalleled resource to the scientific community and its knowledge-based applications for conformational assessment, intermolecular interaction analysis, crystal engineering and formulation studies continue to guide structural chemistry research in over 1,200 academic institutions worldwide and all of the world’s top pharmaceutical Companies.
